The ECEEE Summer Study is a biennial, interdisciplinary, cross-sectoral conference who has developed into the most important energy efficiency event in Europe, offering a mix of quality peer-reviewed paper presentations, informal sessions set up by participants on the spot, inspiring keynotes and just plain round-the-clock networking.
The R2A project successfully submitted a paper to this event, “Can big data drive the market for residential energy efficiency?” which was presented on the 2nd of June at Panel 8. Monitoring and evaluation: building confidence and enhancing practices.
The paper focuses on if and how the different market actors respond to the new information being made available through the retrofit action hubs and data tools. Several hundreds of stakeholders in the R2A participating countries have collaborated in providing specifications, information and evaluation that are essential to guarantee effectiveness of the data services, providing customers value and functionalities to prompt the uptake of energy retrofit activities in private dwellers. The paper delivers a detailed evaluation of the stakeholder response to the big data tools, from policy makers and local authorities to trades people, investors, banks and professionals, providing insight view that would prompt the energy retrofit market.
